    Re: Week 2 Games

Burton at Appalachia- The Dawgs were sluggish last week. They knew they were playing a team they were supposed to handle. Having said that, the boys from Appy will be ready to play. Norton knows what this rivalry means as well. This one will be a good one. 28-20 Raiders.
Clintwod at Haysi- this one has a shot at game of the night (what a tough week to pick games). Going with the boys from Sandlick at home 21-20.
Gate City at Coeburn- GC coming off of a shelllacking, Knights coming off of a blowout win. None of this matters-Richlands is state champ material, Twin Springs is terrible. 28-7 Devils win.
Powell Valley at Seymour TN- The Vikes will make Seymour look like Jane Seymour Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman when it's all done. 35-17 PV.
J.J. Kelly at Pound- Kelly's season started less than planned, while Pound got a big win on the road to start the season. It is now or never for my Tribe. It is gut-check time. It's been too long since JJK has beaten anybody in the LPD (except Coeburn). A win Friday night would do wonders for our program. I gotta have a little faith-Kelly 28-21.

    Re: Week 2 Games

    Burton at Appalachia
Dawgs will play tough but it won't be enough
    Raiders 34
    Dawgs 18

    GC at Coeburn
Nice win last week by the Knights but it will be a different Scott County team this week.
    Blue Devils 40
    Blue Knights 14

    PV at Seymour
PV will be looking to get their revenge this year and they will
    Vikings 28
    Seymour 17

    Kelly at Pound
Should be fairly evenly matched. I'll give it to Pound at home
    Mildcats 21
    Injuns 19

    Clintwood at Haysi
In the small corner of the world called Dickenson County this is the Superbowl. Haysi will be looking for their 3rd consecutive win against Clintwood and thats something very few area teams outside of PV and GC have been able to accomplish against the Wave. Both teams have some young guys in key positions but for the most part they are talented youngsters. Haysi will sorely miss Josh Yates in this one but the outcome still may come down to a couple of the areas top kickers in Clintwood sophomore Derek Robbins and Haysi sophomore Allen Owens. Both are capable from 40+. Biggest concern in Tigerland is some of the rumors I have been hearing about some of the veteran Haysi leaders talking a little bit too overconfidently and non-chalant in reference to the Clintwood game. Can't take the Wave for granted, they WILL be ready.

[/ QUOTE ] It ain't the Dawg players that are worrin' me- throw the ball on 4th and 2?

i don't have a dog in this race, but don't question your coaching staff this early in the season. just my opinion though, it is america though. there's nothing wrong with change.

Sounds like Haysi is acting like we did towards them about 5 or so years ago. This game is going to be a slugfest. As opposed to last year, I think the talent level is equal this season. Its going to be who wants it more and trust me, the the Greenwave players, coaching staff, and community want this one BAD.
